The Ateliers · Google Ads

Google Ads for houses where one sale pays for the quarter.

OMRUs manages Google Ads for luxury watch dealers, jewelers and high-ticket ecommerce brands across the United States. Search, Shopping and remarketing built around order value rather than click volume, because in this trade a hundred wrong visitors cost more than they ever return.

II

The Discipline

Nine parts of a luxury paid programme.

High-ticket paid search is a different problem from volume retail. Conversion counts are small, the sales cycle is long, and the platform’s automation is tuned for neither.

i

Intent before volume

A campaign is built around the searches that precede a serious purchase, not the ones that produce the most traffic. Broad luxury terms attract admirers, and admirers are expensive to serve.

ii

Shopping feed engineering

The feed is where most luxury Shopping performance is won or lost. Titles, attributes, certification and condition are structured so the right piece surfaces against the right query.

iii

Negatives as a discipline

In high-ticket search, exclusion matters more than inclusion. Replica, fake, cheap, repair and salary queries are removed continuously rather than reviewed once at setup.

NegativesWaste Control
iv

Long sales cycles

A five-figure purchase is rarely decided in one session. Attribution windows, remarketing and audience sequencing are set for weeks of consideration rather than a same-day close.

v

Offline conversion tracking

Many luxury sales close by telephone or in the showroom. Without offline conversion import the platform optimises toward the wrong outcome, and the account slowly degrades while looking healthy.

Automation, supervised

Performance Max and smart bidding work well with enough conversion data and badly without it. For thin-volume luxury accounts, the automation is constrained rather than trusted.

Brand defence

Deciding when to bid on your own name, and when that is simply paying for traffic you already had. Competitors bidding on your brand is a separate question, handled separately.

Creative in the register

Copy and assets that read like the house rather than like a discount retailer. Paid placement is often the first impression a buyer has, and a cheap advertisement makes an expensive product look wrong.

Reporting by margin

Spend reported against revenue and margin, never against impressions or click-through rate. Where the account has not earned its budget, that is what the report says.

Questions, Answered

Before you write to us.

What budget do luxury Google Ads campaigns need? +

Enough that the platform can gather conversion data, which for high-ticket accounts usually means a monthly media budget in the low thousands at minimum. Below that, automated bidding has too little signal to work with, and OMRUs will generally recommend putting the money into search or the storefront instead.

Is Google Shopping worth it for high-value pieces? +

Often yes, and it depends almost entirely on the feed. Shopping surfaces on specific product searches, which is exactly where high-intent luxury queries sit. A poorly structured feed will underperform regardless of budget, which is why OMRUs treats feed engineering as the first task rather than a setup step.

How do you handle sales that close by phone or in store? +

Through offline conversion import, connecting the enquiry to the eventual sale in the ad account. Without it, Google optimises toward whatever produces cheap online conversions, which for a luxury dealer is usually the wrong buyer entirely.

Should I bid on my own brand name? +

Sometimes. If competitors are bidding on your name, defending it is usually worth the spend. If nobody is, you may be paying for clicks you would have received free. OMRUs tests it rather than assuming, and reports what the test showed.

Do you use Performance Max? +

Where the account has the conversion volume to support it. Performance Max works well with data and poorly without, and many luxury accounts do not generate enough conversions to feed it properly. In those cases OMRUs constrains it or avoids it and says why.

How is paid search reported? +

Monthly, against revenue and margin rather than impressions or click-through rate. Where the account has not earned its budget in a given month, the report states that plainly instead of finding a more flattering metric.
